Sharing
Share your roster, privately
Send one link and your colleagues see when you work. It is encrypted on your phone, needs no account, and opens on any device.
How it works
Share from the app
Tap Share in AfterDuty and send the link in any chat. It works with anyone, on any phone.
Locked on your phone
Your roster is encrypted before it leaves your phone. The key lives only inside the link.
Opens anywhere
Friends see it in their browser straight away, or save it in AfterDuty to compare days off.
We can’t read it. Really.
The key that unlocks your roster sits after the # in the link, and browsers never send that part to any server. That is why even we only ever hold scrambled data.
On our server
- Scrambled data nobody can read
- A random ID. No names or emails are stored
- When it was last updated
Only in your link
- Your shifts and shift types
- The name you choose to show
- The key that unlocks it
No accounts
Nobody signs up or logs in. A link is all it takes.
You decide
Choose which jobs to share. Your notes are never shared. Stop any time and the link stops working.
Works for everyone
Friends on Android or a laptop can view your roster in a browser, no app needed.
Questions
Who can see my roster?+
Only people who have your link. Treat it like a private photo link and send it to people you trust.
What if my link gets out?+
Stop sharing in the app, then turn it on again. You get a brand new link and the old one stops working at once.
Does the link show my name?+
Only if you set one. It is part of the link, so chat apps can say who shared it, like “Ana’s roster”. Leave it blank if you’d rather not.
Do my friends need AfterDuty?+
No. The link opens in any browser. With the app they can also save you and compare your days off with theirs.
Can AfterDuty read my roster?+
No. It is encrypted on your phone with a key we never receive, so all we hold is scrambled data.
How long is it kept?+
While you keep sharing. If a shared roster is not updated for 120 days, it is deleted automatically.
